Massage therapy is used to prevent, develop, maintain, rehabilitate and enhance physical function, and relieve pain. It achieves results in the relief of stress, muscular overuse and many chronic pain syndromes. Muscle strains, ligament sprains, fascial tension, and chronic pain are commonly treated with massage therapy.
Your massage therapist will take a complete history and assess any areas of injury. They will release adhesions or tension in the soft tissues using their hands. Afterwards they may recommend stretches and simple lifestyle modifications to help with tissue healing.
